IELTS Examiner’s Tip 02：Timing
In part 1, the examiner will ask you about 3 topics for a total of 4-5 minutes. That means an average of 90 seconds per topic. The examiner will try to ask you 3-4 questions per topic, so your average answer should be 20-30 seconds long. Of course, you will probably give 1-2 longer answers and 1-2 shorter ones, which is fine. Just make sure that your average answer is 20-30 seconds long. If the examiner feels that your answer is too long, he/she may stop you. This is not a problem unless you have been repeating yourself or not answering the question.
