Beginning and ending the interview
At the beginning, simply greet the examiner with ‘Hello’ or ‘Good afternoon’. The examiner will guide you through the test. At the end simply say ‘Thank you. Good-bye’. Then leave the room. In particular, avoid poetic phrases such as ‘It has been a great pleasure and honour to have such a wonderful and lovely discussion with you.’ The examiner is just doing a job. Using such phrases indicates that you cannot use English appropriately!
