Do you agree that in movies and/or TV programs good men should be rewarded and bad men should be punished?
【解析&審題】
本場考試很多同學們都反映獨立寫作的題目很難，從話題上來說的確不是很容易展開思路，且之前的考試中也很少出現過相關話題。這裡我們給同學們進行一個簡單的思路擴展。首先，題目討論的其實就是應不應該通過媒體傳播好人被報答，壞人被懲罰的正能量。如果認為應該，則論述這麼做可以傳播弘揚正確的價值觀，達到教育的目的；另外，此題材的作品受眾範圍更廣（觀眾看瞭解氣）。如果認為不應該，則可以討論這種題材的作品其實脫離了現實，讓人們，尤其是孩子無法看清社會現實；另外這樣的內容會使得作品內容單一，模式一致。
【主體段示範】
To begin with, such kind of movies and TV programs can make audiences, especially young children, live under the illusion that this is how the real society works. But in fact, people don't usually get the same and equal payback for what they have done. As a result, they may act more radically when they find out that the real world may not be like that. For example, a well-behaved individual, who is highly disciplined, always obeys the law and contributes all of his sincerity and kindness to other people in need, even strangers. He makes regular donations to different charities and even applies for volunteers in different community services. Despite the fact that he only receives modest income like other ordinary citizens, he definitely devotes himself and the majority of his resources to make the world better. However,what if he lost one of his beloved ones during an accident and the person who is responsible for this somehow managed to escape from the punishment? There is a very high possibility the this man will turn against the system and become anti-social. So, conveying the message that good people will always be rewarded and bad people always receive punishment is way too idealistic.

Should graduate students be allowed to teach some basic/introductory courses or should they just be professors' assistants?
【解析&審題】
本場考試的口語獨立題雖然是一道常見的教育類話題，但是涉及到的討論主體是研究生，是比較少被問到的群體。如果認為應該的話，可以從graduate students和professor的角度來論述，例如豐富實際經驗，減輕教授的課業負擔等；如果認為不應該，則可以從普通學生的角度來討論，例如學生可能會覺得不公平。
【回答示範】
In my opinion, I think graduate students should be allowed to do so. Because it can enrich their practical experience and reinforce their own research field. Also, it can reduce the academic burden of professors and save time for them. For example, one of my university courses was taught by a graduate student who used to be my TA. The course content is introductory and she was completely qualified to teach. So, during a causal conversation, she told me she was very delightful and grateful to be offered such opportunity , it helped her with her own study topic a lot. More importantly, the professor could be more prepared to teach high quality intermediate-level, even advanced-level courses.
