第二，圈養歐洲鰉也不是一個好的方法。被圈養的歐洲鰉放生到野外後，存活的可能性較低。這是因為它們缺乏基因的多樣性，因而適應環境變化的能力很低。所以，被圈養的歐洲鰉會由於環境的一個小的變化而滅亡。

Although the writer proposes three strategies to increase the population of the beluga sturgeon, the professor demonstrates that none of them are efficient.
First, in contradiction to the passage’s argument, the lecture contends that the stricter laws would not protect beluga sturgeon. Many fishers would continue selling belugas in the illegal but profitable black market. According to the wildlife experts, about ten times number of belugas were sold in the black market in the last several decades. So it is unlikely that the fishes would obey the stricter laws by giving up the numerous profits.

Further, the professor denies the writer’s strategy of raising belugas in captivity as well. It is because the fish would have very low genetic diversity which is bad for their long-term survival. They would be destroyed by a single disease of environmental change if they have similar genetic traits. So it is bad for belugas in the long run.
Finally, while the reading says that prohibiting the fishers from taking younger belugas is useful, the listening points out that this method would still remain belugas reproductive rates at a low rate. The professor states that the bigger problem contributing to the low reproductive rate is dams. In order to reproduce, the belugas must travel great distances in rivers to reach their breeding ground. Unfortunately, the dams block the flow of the water. As a result, they are unable to reach their breeding ground and reproduce.
